BACinema Presents ~ Chicagoland Shorts, Wednesday, February 7th at 7:30 p.m.

Chicagoland Shorts brings together the best of the so-called niche cinemas – queer, Asian American, black, experimental, etc. – culled from local film festivals, micro-cinemas, and film schools. Collectively, the films featured in Chicagoland Shorts have screened nationally and internationally at museums, galleries, and over 100 competitive film festivals. Concessions, Bar, and Free Parking $6 ($5 BAC Members) Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St. 

American English ~ Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 8PM

The show begins with the early years of Ed Sullivan and includes classic Beatle favorites. You’ll take a trip with American English as they recreate the psychedelic era of The Beatles. Every musical and visual detail is magically shaped in a colorful journey back in time. Daughters of Ire ~ February 22, 23 and 24 at 7:00 PM, & February 25 at 2:00 PM

Daughters of Ire is a one-woman show written and starring Chicago’s own Savanna Rae. The show takes historic and powerful female figures from Irish history and brings them into 2018.  Don’t miss this exciting South Side premiere in the Beverly Arts Center’s intimate studio theatre! Concessions, Bar, and Free Parking

ComEd Ambassador Program ~ Friday, February 23, 2018 (10:00AM – 12:00PM)
A ComEd Energy Ambassador will be available in the lobby to talk to you about energy saving tips and to pass out small giveaways such as sunglasses, pens and night lights. Mount Greenwood Public Library, 11010 S. Kedzie Avenue.
Irish Cultural Hour: A Morning of Irish Storytelling ~ Friday, February 23 (10:30AM – 11:30AM)
Chicago Irish Immigrant Support (CIIS)presents the 2nd in a winter series of Irish cultural programming at Mount Greenwood Branch. With musical performances and cultural programs CIIS hopes to create a great place for seniors to gather to enjoy one another's company and to celebrate Irish culture and heritage. This February event features a morning of Irish storytelling. Doors open at 10 a.m. No registration required. Mount Greenwood Public Library, 11010 S. Kedzie Avenue.

Liz Carroll with Jake Charron and Nic Gareiss ~ Saturday, February 24 at 8PM

Chicago-born Liz Carroll is an Irish-American fiddler and composer of international fame. She was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2010, the first American-born Irish music performer to be so honored. Adult Book Discussion: The Book of Unknown Americans~February 28th 1:00–2:30PM
Discuss The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez. This story of the American immigrant experience of two families, the Rivera family from Mexico and the Toro family from Panama, goes beyond the politics and headlines of the immigration debate to reflect the true nature of what families lose and gain after leaving their native countries to start new lives in the United States.
